20-50 More Jobs Coming to Carroll County

The Canton Repository reports today that BTI Services is ready to add 20 to 50 new jobs for Carroll County as the economic explosion related to oil and gas exploration continues.

BTI recently bought 28 acres and a 47,000-square-foot building at 1100 Steubenville Road in Carrollton at a cost of $1.4 million.  Company representative James Dodd announced that they are now providing services from that location.

Most of the jobs will be filled by area residents, according to County Economic Development Director Glenn Enslen.  The pay scale will be based on experience, skills, and the type of job, and has not yet been finalized.  More after the jump...
BTI offers rental equipment for surface and downhole drilling, and well completion.  "We offer maintenance after the rig has left the drilling site," Dodd said.

The article in the Repository goes on to highlight some of the past job creation announcements that have accompanied the drilling boom, including:
  • Tremcar USA announcing in September expansion plans which would add 145 new jobs
  • Oil field service provider Schlumberger investing $2.89 million in 140 acres in the Strasburg Industrial Park in December, which should create 200 jobs over the next couple of years
  • Select Energy Services announcing plans in January that will bring 200 jobs to Carroll County
  • MarkWest Energy Partners announcement in February of plans that will add 40 new jobs across Monroe and Harrison counties
  • El Paso Corp. purchasing land in Tuscarawas County in association with a project that will bring 20 to 30 full-time jobs by 2013, as announced by Uhrichsville officials
