Condensate Storage Tank Explodes in Columbiana County; No Injuries

Fire was contained in the tank of an oil well explosion Sunday night at 8704 Knox-School Road in West Township, Coumbiana County, six miles east of Minerva.
“I just talked to a Youngstown representative of Atlas Gas, who owns the well, and they’ll be out there this morning along with Stark County HAZMAT, the EMA ( Columbiana County Emergency Management Agency) and the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency),” said Fire Chief Aaron Stoller of the Sandy Creek Joint Fire District. “We were out there about two hours last night after a nearby resident called at 8:29.”
