Utica Permit Count Nears 700 With 18 Issued Last Week

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources has released its latest Utica shale permitting activity report.  18 new permits were issued across the state last week.

Harrison County was the hot spot, with 8 new permits issued.  Belmont and Carroll counties each had 4 new permits issued, while Columbiana and Washington had 1 new permit a piece.

The permit total is now 693, with 339 wells drilled and 102 producing.  The Utica rig count also climbed from previous reports, to 37.
