12 New Utica Shale Permits Last Week

There were 12 more permits issued for horizontal drilling in Ohio's Utica shale last week, according to the latest report from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

Belmont County was the hot spot during the week of April 6 to April 12, with 8 new permits for sites there.  Monroe County was the location for 3 permits, and Noble County saw 1 new permit.

The new cumulative totals are: 1,212 permits, 825 wells drilled, 389 wells producing, and a rig count of 41.
