Latest ODNR Report: Utica Shale Permitting Grinds to a Halt

The weekly update on Utica shale permitting has been released by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, and it would be impossible for activity to slow any further than it did last week.

No new permits were issued for horizontal drilling in Ohio.

The cumulative permit total now stands at 1,868, with 1,420 wells drilled and 839 producing.  The Utica rig count declined once again, down to 24.
