Natural Gas-Fired Power Plant Construction Begins This Week in Carrollton

From The Canton Repository:
Carroll County Energy will start building its power plant this week on land north of the village, according to a filing Tuesday with the Ohio Power Siting Board.
The news came on the same day parent company Advanced Power announced it had successfully closed an $899 million financing package for the project.
The power plant will be on rural land 2.5 miles north of Carrollton and east of state Route 9. Workers did preliminary tree clearing at the site in February.
CCE will burn natural gas to generate more than 700 megawatts, enough electricity to power about 750,000 homes, according to a press release. The Carroll County location is near Utica and Marcellus natural gas production, the Tennessee Gas Pipeline system and AEP electric transmission lines.
